Welcome to the new CTSI Website

Dr. Michael Dunn to serve as Director of CTSI TRRO office

CTSI welcomes Michael J. Dunn, MD, Dean Emeritus and Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Physiology, who has joined the CTSI as Director of its new Translational Research Resources Office (TRRO).

The TRRO was created to provide clinical and translational investigators with assistance and support in all stages of their research. This includes assistance with Institutional Review Board, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and bio-safety applications; research design and development; grant writing; bioethics consultation; research integrity; and conflict of interest. The goal is to help researchers obtain access to key technologies and novel methods and techniques that can accelerate their clinical and translational project development.

In his new role, Dr. Dunn will oversee the development of the TRRO into a primary, one-stop resource for clinical and translational researchers in Southeastern Wisconsin. He also will mentor new CTSI clinical investigators to help them develop their research careers, and offer guidance to senior investigators who wish to develop program project grant-type research programs.

As a driving force leading the movement toward clinical translational research, Dr Dunn has actively participated in developing the leadership team for the CTSI.  Committed to the growth of the CTSI, Dr. Dunn will work to optimize the linking of clinical and translational research resources within the College and between the College and the other CTSI partner institutions.

Welcome to CTSI

Welcome to the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) web site. We hope that the information provided in this venue is helpful for learning more about the transition of the GCRC to the Translational Research Units (TRU) as part of CTSI key functions.

This site is intended to provide a mechanism to foster research collaboration among faculty and provide insights as to how the CTSI can assist in the advancement of your clinical and translational research. Most importantly, we hope to learn through this medium about your ideas and suggestions on how to bring together the intellectual and technological assets of MCW and its partnering institutions to develop a borderless, innovative, and synergistic research environment conducive to the rapid translation of basic knowledge into clinical practice and patient care.

We look forward to your active involvement in this new and important endeavor. Remember to visit often - this site will continue to evolve along with the growth of the CTSI.

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute will continue to make improvements to the Web site to improve the site's usability and expand its content. If you have any comments, suggestions or corrections, please send them to:  ctsi@mcw.edu
