The alto recorder is probably the world's simplest instrument to learn and perfect for beginning adult music students.. It is a larger version of those familiar plastic soprano recorders that are often handed out in grammar school music classes. The alto is longer and has a deeper, more mellow sound. The spacing of the holes is farther apart and perfect for adult fingers.

Sheet music and tin/penny whistle notes for Irish songs.
Including music from The Dubliners, The Clancy's, Traditional Tunes, Christy Moore, The Wolfe Tones, The Fureys and much more. This music notation is suitable for banjo, mandolin, accordion, fiddle and tin whistle. The tin whistle notes may not always match the music sheet score, which means when transcribed the notes on whistle may not be in the same key as the sheet music it came from. These song notes are only a guide.
This site is all about penny whistles and whistle music. On this site, you'll find sheet music and midi to many irish and scottish folk tunes, as well as tunes that just sound good on the whistle. You'll find children's songs, Christmas carols, Irish Airs, reels, jigs, or pretty much anything (hopefully) to whet your whistle music craving.
The low whistle, with its haunting and etheral tone, has recently established its place within Irish music. It is a tin whistle, in the range of keys from A below middle C, down to D. The lower range requires this whistle to be increased in size. It is suited for the contemporary composeers such as Davy Spillane, Bill Whelan or Máire Breathnach. In skilled hands, it can also perform the traditional music of Ireland.
